Walk Description
Short, but impressive walk commencing at Cairn Gorm Mountain Base Station 635m/2083ft where after a short distance the path forks to the left heading for Coire an t-Sneachda on some stone steps. The path then ascends steadily across the slope towards the corrie with giant blocks making stepping stones over tiny streams. The views looking back are superb. Further up the path crosses the main stream and continues towards the impressive cliffs of Coire an t-Sneachda ahead. The path deteriorates a little before reaching huge boulders on the floor of the corrie where tiny lochans nestle below the Cairngorm plateau towering above. Return by outward route. As we commence at over 2000ft and ascend almost another 1000ft it is likely to be very cold so please be prepared and stay nice and cosy! - lovely hot refreshments at Ski Centre afterwards and maybe even scones!
