New Members New members are very welcome. We pride ourselves in being a friendly club, and hope that you will find us so. However we have to stipulate that there is no option to continue to walk with the club on any excursion after the two introductory walks, unless the Treasurer or Secretary has received an application to join the club and payment of the first subscription.


Meeting Place

The meeting place for all Saturday walks is the car park on the Glenurquhart Road side of the Highland Council Office Buildings. The meeting place for Sunday Walks is the Cathedral Car Park, unless otherwise stated in the programme.


Walk Gradings

The key to grades of walks shown on our walk programme is as follow

"A" Hill walking with ascent over 1500 feet, or lower level walks over 15 miles.B+ Greater than B but less than A."B" Lesser hill up to 1500ft or moorland walks, or low level walks between 7 – 14 milesC+ Greater than C but less than B. "C" Low level walking 6 – 10 miles, possibly including some minor ascents up to 1000ft>"D" Up to 6 miles, and all evening walks.


Safety

Members are ask to ensure that they are fit for all walks they intend to undertake.

Be aware that if you are unfit, you risk yourown safety and that of others on the walk. Boots are essential for all ‘A’, ‘B’, and for ‘C’ walks


The following equipment is recommended:
Suitable footware, waterproof jacket and trousers, gaiters, rucksack, spare sweater, spare socks, headgear, food ,drink, gloves, whistle, survival bag, walking stick, high energy food.(Jeans are not recommended)

Members are expected to take care of their own SAFETY as no liability can be accepted by the Club. Members andprospective members are expected to follow the rules of the Club. DogsNo dogs are allowed on any club walks.
